How to redirect domain in Cpanel?

Redirects allow you to redirect a specific page to another page and display the contents of that second page.

  • Login into cpanel

  • Click Redirects icon under Domains

  • Choose the type of redirect ,which you would like to have for your domain:

Permanent (301): A permanent redirect will notify the visitor's browser to update any bookmarks that are linked to the page that is being redirected.

Temporary (302): Temporary redirects will not update the visitor's bookmarks and the search engine will continue to index to the original page.

  • Choose the domain name from the http://(www.) drop-down menu, which you would like to redirect. If you need to redirect a single page or directory, then enter the name of the folder or file in text field following the drop-down menu.

  • In the redirects to field, enter the full URL of the page, which you will be redirecting the domain name.

  • Select one of the following www redirection options to redirect domain with www. or not:

Only redirect with www: This redirect will work if only visitors are typing your domain name with www in browser.

Redirect with or without www : This redirect will work if visitors are typing domain name either with or without www.

Do Not Redirect www : This redirect will not work if visitors are typing domain name with www.

  • Then Click Add to create the redirect as specified.

Now when visitors type the exact URL that you specified, they will be redirected to the target site which you are assigned.
