If you are a windows user, then do as follows:
Step 1: Choose Run from the start menu, enter cmd and click Ok button.
Step 2: Then enter Ping followed by an IP address/website name and press 'Enter' button.
For e.g.
Ping <192.168.0.1>
OR
Ping www.domainname.com
Step 3: If there is no issue in the internet connection, then your IP address will be displayed in the screen. In case there are any issues, your IP address will not be displayed.
If you are a Linux user, then open the Terminal and type 'Ping' followed by your IP address or your domain name. The status will be displayed in the screen.
